1533 SNUFF BOX & VASE A spectator may place any small article into the snuff box. The performer need
never touch the article or the snuff box. Even though the spectator places the box in the vase himself, and guards the vase closely, the article vanishes or changes into something else entirely! Rather than
recreate the original prop (described in Modern Magic) with modern metalworking technology, Les Smith decided to try turning the vase in wood. The thin walls and tight tolerances made it the ultimate
wood-turning challenge. Those who saw Les' original were more than enthusiastic, so this (very) Limited Edition was created. Woods range from Hard Rock Maple, Cherry and Holly to Purple Heart, Padauk, Satine
and Goncalo Alves. A few are turned from radially segmented blanks of two contrasting woods. The snuff box is solid brass. |

own Floyd Thayer's, this Les Smith all-wood turning can be used as a Hoffman Cannonball Vase or as a Morison Pill Box in jumbo size. |
