SAWING A LADY IN HALF

For over half a century great magicians have made reputations with the illusion of sawing a woman in half. There have been many methods all with strengths and weaknesses but with this original Owen version all drawbacks are eliminated. Only one girl is used. She is placed into a tiny compartment on a table type platform with head and legs secured by stock arrangements. Head, body, legs and feet are visible. Box, and seemingly girl, are sawn through, the two halves are separated, wheeled apart, and yet the girl's feet move. FROM THE PAGES OF LIFE

Center stage stands a giant-sized book of magic. The book is elevated from the floor so that a clear view exists under, over and around the book. The giant book is turned around, the front and back are opened out to allow the audience to see the book is empty. Yet no sooner are the covers closed than the front cover is open again to reveal a real live princess straight out of a fairy tale.

MATILDA'S WARDROBE

A clever and entertaining illusion combining the best features from both the Modern Cabinet and the Spirit Cabinet effects. A new principle eliminates the suspicion of a possible hiding place for anyone in the cabinet. The wardrobe front and back doors are both opened and the spectators can see clear through. A woman's red dress is folded over a clothes hanger in the cabinet. When the doors are closed strange noises are heard and strange happenings occur within. After much by-play and periodically showing the cabinet empty, a beautiful girl appears in the cabinet clothed in the red dress. A very startling surprise ending.
